Telescopic springs protect moving machine parts. There is a twofold answer to the question of when the use of telescopic springs is recommended.
- Telescopic springs are always the appropriate machine protection for moving parts when the available space is very limited, so that the use of bellows is not possible.
- As telescopic springs are made of high-quality steel, they are the preferred choice where there is an increased amount of glowing swarf or where there is permanent spraying with emulsions.
Materials
Telescopic springs are made of highly tempered steel. Spring steel is insensitive to corrosion. Telescopic springs offer optimum protection even in aggressive environments or at high temperatures. No maintenance is required. However, we recommend cleaning and then applying a light film of oil in the event of increased soiling.
Installation
Installation is very simple. Centering flanges that allow the spring to rotate are sufficient. Nothing needs to be dismantled during installation as the spring can be looped around the object to be protected.
Lifting height
Telescopic springs can be compressed to a minimum dimension. This dimension corresponds to the width of the spring steel used.
Horizontal use
Telescopic springs can be used both horizontally and vertically. When used horizontally, the outer diameter (Da) must be 3-5 mm larger.
Versions
The cross-section is always round, the extended telescopic spring is always conical. They are manufactured in specified diameters and installation lengths. The perfect functioning of different stroke lengths guarantees the corresponding bandwidth.
