Bellows
…have conquered the most diverse areas of application, from simple dust protection devices to use in steelworks.
Our products are used to protect spindles and pistons, provide air conditioning in television studios and are used in the continuous casting process to prevent reactions between the molten steel and the humidity in the air. We have been supplying well-known industrial companies with bellows, slideway protectors and loading hoses for decades.
In many cases, we have found practicable solutions even where customers saw no possibility and conventional designs did not offer an efficient result. The considerable knowledge and experience we have gained over the years forms the basis of our expertise. Bellows are manufactured according to detailed specifications. An inquiry form is available for this purpose in the service area here on the website. Molding costs are generally not charged. We produce all protection systems in small and large quantities. Thanks to a patented process developed by us, we are also able to supply pilot series and prototypes for bellows at low cost.
Pull-out ratio
In typical cases, the pull-out ratioLmin : Lmax is 1:6. In special cases, where the outer diameter can be freely selected, pull-out ratios of up to 1:10 are possible. In the case of conical bellows, where the folds interlock, we have achieved pull-out ratios of up to 1:20.
Assembly
The connecting parts can be designed in different ways. The most common designs are flange or faceplate. The flange made of sheet metal or plastic is fastened with screws. A clamping strap is used for the cuff.
Composite bellows
Composite bellows
An innovative process for the production of bellows, prototypes and pilot series. These bellows are manufactured using a process developed by us. An extremely hard-wearing material is created by combining high-strength synthetic fibers with rubber.
Material
An elastic, seamless circular knitted synthetic fabric is coated with nitrile or silicone rubber. This creates a bond between the high-strength synthetic fibers and the rubber. The composite material has high strength. It has the well-known favorable properties of rubber bellows.
Properties
The bellows are extremely resistant to oil, chemicals and thermal stress. The correct choice of rubber coating allows the bellows to be matched to the desired area of application.
Area of application
The bellows are suitable for all areas in which rubber bellows can be used. The manufacturing process makes it possible to produce rubber bellows cost-effectively in small quantities on existing molds. In addition to the quality advantages, this production method offers a clear cost advantage for small quantities, pilot series or prototypes.
Sewn Bellows
Sewn bellows are hand-made flexible protective elements with an extremely wide range of applications. Sewn bellows are used wherever the mobility and protection of important machine parts must be guaranteed.
Pull-out ratio
In normal cases, the pull-out ratioLmin : Lmax is 1:6. In special cases, where the outer diameter is freely selectable, pull-out ratios of up to 1:10 are possible. In the case of conical bellows, where the folds interlock, we have achieved pull-out ratios of up to 1:20.
Assembly

Immersed bellows made of thermoplastic
Areas of application
Immersed bellows are used when a special shape as well as medium quantities/small series between 50-1000 pieces are required. Special connections such as inner bead and outer bead connections etc. are possible. They serve as spindle and piston rod protection and are absolutely leak-proof and visually appealing when dipped.
Versions
Bellows manufactured using the immersion process can be supplied in various Shore hardnesses and colors. An individual mold design enables the production of almost any shape and wall thicknesses between 1-3 mm are available. Support or sliding washers can be used to prevent increased wear and sagging in horizontal use.
Production
The bellows are manufactured by dipping a bellows mold into a liquid thermoplastic. The subsequent insertion of wire rings into the folded tip gives the bellows additional strength.
Deep-drawn bellows
Bellows are flexible protective elements with an extremely wide range of applications. Bellows reduce downtimes and repair costs and in many cases make maintenance completely unnecessary.
Areas of application
• Small to medium-sized bellows with a length ratio of 1:6 to 1:10 depending on the fold depth • Protection against dust, scale and chips on drive shafts, pistons and hydraulic systems • Protection against sand, flying sparks, heat and material splashes on robots, moulding and casting machines • Prevention of dust formation on vibrating conveyor and packaging systems • Ensuring mobility in aggressive or humid climates • Reduction of noise in piping systems- Protection of moving parts on industrial robots
Versions
In special cases, a heat-resistant Kevlar can be used instead of rubberized fabric or leather. We have an extensive stock of molds, which gets constantly being expanded. In many cases, the right shape, whether cylindrical, conical, trapezoidal or semi-circular, is already available. Special shapes can be produced free of charge using special disks. Wound bellows are manufactured with a standard fold depth of between 10 and 30 mm. Support or sliding washers can be used to prevent increased wear and sagging in horizontal applications.
Production
Bellows are produced by deep-drawing the raw material (prior gluing, with longitudinal seams for particularly heavy-duty use). During deep drawing, a moistened leather tube is pulled over a multi-part mold. The tube is brought into the mold using a cord. After drying, the molded parts are removed piece by piece. To protect the bellows from moisture, a plastic coating is applied afterwards.
Heat-resistant bellows
Bellows are not only used under normal climatic conditions, but also in areas with high temperatures. Materials with special material qualities are used for high thermal loads.
Materials
Robust, thermally resilient, asbestos-free materials are used for heat-resistant bellows. These are heat-resistant leather and other current fabrics made of inorganic fibers: Glass fabric, aramid, silicate, Preox. All of these materials can be laminated with aluminum foil, which increases their mechanical strength. The heat resistance and mechanical stress of the materials vary, so the material must be decided on a case-by-case basis.
Versions
Heat-resistant materials are both wound and sewn. For large dimensions, wire rings on the inside and spiral springs on the outside ensure an exact folding process. The pull-out ratio for heat-resistant bellows is approx. 1:5. Almost all lengths and diameters from approx. 100 mm are available.
Areas of application
Bellows can be installed vertically and horizontally. The planned type of use determines the special design features. The bellows are used in steelworks, smelting works, rolling mills, glass factories and other industrial sectors. Pistons, spindles and shafts are protected against dust, flying sparks and scale. In industrial robots, moving parts and cables are protected from welding beads or increased heat radiation. In the automotive sector, they are used as thermally resilient extraction hoses.
Disk bellows
Areas of application
Disk bellows are used when a maximum Lmax/Lmin ratio (approx. 1:20) is required. They serve as spindle and piston rod protection and are absolutely leak-proof and visually appealing in vulcanized design. Disc bellows are suitable for use as single pieces and small series, as no molding costs are incurred.
Versions
Sewn or vulcanized. Sewn disk bellows can be manufactured in almost any material. Heat-resistant, antistatic or food-safe versions are available, for example.Vulcanized disc bellows are vulcanized from individual rubber discs depending on the intended use. Support or sliding washers can be used to prevent increased wear and sagging in horizontal applications.
Areas of application
Depending on the material, disc bellows are sewn or vulcanized from individual material blanks. Wire rings can be inserted to additionally stabilize the folds.
